Selfridges brings back the Christmas Grotto to the West End

This December, adults and children alike can prepare to be amazed as they step into the fairytale world of the Selfridges Christmas Grotto. The grotto will be the only one in the West End and it is six years since Selfridges last endorsed this fast disappearing Christmas tradition. Since the details of the grotto went live on the retailer’s website they have received over 1600 on line bookings proving that Santa’s Grotto is still a popular part of Christmas.

December sees launch of first transactional website

This December Superdrug enters the £30bn online shopping market with the launch of its first transactional website. Recent research1 shows that online shopping sales in the Uk will reach £42bn by the end of 2007. Superdrug.com is aiming to take a slice of this market and will initially offer 1,200 of the store’s best-selling products including exclusive cosmetics, skin-care, fragrance and gifts. The number of lines available online is expected to double by the end of 2007.

Superdrug's £14.6 million store investment plan 35 new stores to open in 2006
