Chef launches new summer range at Waitrose

Waitrose is welcoming three brand new products to the Heston from Waitrose range. The tart and a new layered jelly dessert are available from 8th May while from early June, a brioche hot dog roll also joins the chef’s delights which capture the taste of a classic British summer, as only Heston can.

Inspired by the ever-popular tipple, the new Heston from Waitrose Earl Grey & Lemon Gin & Tonic Tart has been given a distinctly grown up twist with the addition of Heston's Earl Grey & Lemon Gin. With an all butter pastry, the zesty filling has an aromatic juniper undertone and a dusting of fizzy sugar, for extra sparkle.

Heston Blumenthal says: ‘The tart takes inspiration from the fantastic flavours of gin and tonic. A velvety lemon and lime custard, fizzy sugar and a splash of my Earl Grey & Lemon Gin make this tart a unique and innovative take on the classic cocktail’.

Another new dessert to the range is the Heston from Waitrose Summer Cup Dessert - refreshing layers of apple and cucumber jelly, rich custard and a strawberry and mint compote are laced with a splash of Heston’s Fruit Cup. Inspired by classic British summer cocktails, this dessert is the taste of summer in a pot.

Heston is also introducing a brand new Heston from Waitrose Hot Dog Brioche Roll, perfect for summer barbecues. Created in the same way as the Heston from Waitrose Brioche Burger Bun, the dough is made with cream, egg and butter for a light soft bun which is the perfect foil for the chef’s burger and hot dog range.

Back for summer 2017 is the Limited Edition Lamb and Cucumber Burger. Heston’s recipe takes its inspiration from the British cookery book archives. It uses British-bred Abervale lamb for tenderness, pork for extra succulence, diced cucumber, mint and a pinch of nutmeg for added flavour.

Heston’s summer range also includes Ultimate Beef Burgers, Spicy Goan Choris Sausages with Portuguese-Indian fusion flavours and Ultimate Smokehouse Bangers, with smoked salt and oak-smoked water for a deeper smoky flavour.
