Leading bookmaker Coral has slashed James Norton's odds to 5-2 to be the
next James Bond, following a large gamble in the last 24 hours. Norton and
Michael Fassbender are now both joint favourites to land the role, ahead
of Tom Hardy at 11-4, Aidan Turner at 7-2 and Idris Elba at 6-1.
As Daniel Craig has become the second longest-serving Bond, playing the role for 11 and a half years, Coral has also cut the odds on Daniel Craig outlasting Roger Moore’s 12 years as James Bond, cutting the odds on the actor going the distance from 3-1 to 2-1.
“Out of nowhere we've been hit with a surge of bets for Norton to be the next Bond. Even after slashing the odds to 5/2 we are still seeing money for the actor leaving us both shaken and stirred,"
, says Coral's David Stevens.
