The Belgians are famous for their unique beer and variety of cheeses and now they have combined both with the launch of a unique beer cheese which is set to launch in the UK this month, exclusively at Waitrose.
Waitrose will be the first supermarket to introduce the Duvel Belgian Beer cheese which will come under the supermarket’s new premium range, Waitrose 1.
Belgium has a heritage of monastic beers and cheese and this recent addition is made by the renowned cheesemaker Michael van Tricht.
Duvel beer, which has been made in Belgium for over 100 years, is added
to the vats as the cheese is made, giving it a distinctive hop character.
The Duvel Belgian beer cheese is available for £28.99 per kg from
Waitrose has the widest variety of cheese available in any UK supermarket and the new addition is predicted to be a hit with beer lovers.
