The nation’s favourite Bond Girls are the eldest; a new poll of 2,000 customers* by fashion retailer JD Williams has revealed.
Shoppers were asked to rate their favourite Bond Babes and results showed that their top leading ladies were those who appeared in films later in life. Top of the poll came Goldfinger’s dulcet toned aviator Pussy Galore, played by Honor Blackman at 39, the second oldest Bond Girl ever. Other popular choices were Maud Adams in Octopussy, aged 38 and Grace Jones’ villainess May Day in A View to A Kill, aged 37.
Spokesperson for JD Williams Ed Watson says; “It’s refreshing to see our customers are rating Bond Girls irrespective of their age. Our 50+ customers have opted for intelligence and tough personas over youthful girly charms it seems.”
The results come as Monica Bellucci, 51 appears this week in the new film Spectre as the oldest Bond Girl in history or, as she recently commented she “is not a Bond Girl but a Bond Woman.” Bellucci also claimed “I’m not scared about getting old. It’s what’s inside that makes us beautiful on the outside.”
Watson continued; “Bellucci came second in our poll and our customers love her natural beauty and inner confidence. She is the epitome of mature elegance and a woman that we can all aspire to, whatever our age.”
