Leading bookmaker Coral is tipping Boyhood to win ‘Film of the Year’ (1/4) at this weekend’s Baftas, while Beyoncé is the hot favourite to win ‘Album of the Year’ (6/4) at the Grammys.
With David Beckham set to present a Bafta and Katy Perry lined up to perform at the Grammys, it’s set to be a night of glamour on both sides of the pond this Sunday. However, as the odds suggest it’ll be a tight-run race for some awards categories.
As the recent winner of the Best Actor award at the Screen Actors Guild awards, Eddie Redmayne is the hot favourite at 1/6 to win ‘Best Actor’ for his role in The Theory of Everything. Meanwhile, Michael Keaton is at 4/1, with Benedict Cumberbatch in third at 10/1. Julianne Moore is leading the Best Actress race at 1/12 for her part in Still Alice, while Gone Girl’s Rosamund Pike is 12/1. In the Outstanding British Film category, it’s The Imitation Game that’s currently out front, at 5/6.
Swapping the cold red carpet of London for sunny LA, Sam Smith’s ‘Stay With Me’ is tipped to win the Song of the Year at the Grammys (5/6), with the British artist also up for Best New Artist at 1/7 and a close second for the Album of the Year at 7/4 behind Beyoncé.
Coral’s John Hill says: “With a double-dose of awards taking place this weekend, we’re in for a star-studded Sunday. The winners of the Baftas often go on to win Oscars so we’ll be watching with interest, while as our favourite to win album of the year, Beyoncé’s performance in the Grammys is sure to be a highlight of the night.”
