SHEPHERDS PURSE

HARD CHEESE, GOOD NEWS

The ruling by the European Court of Justice, preventing the use of the term ‘feta’ outside Greece left a bitter taste for Yorkshire cheesemakers Shepherds Purse.

The company, which had been making Yorkshire Feta since 1987, ran a five-year campaign to defend its right to the name. Despite the negative outcome, ZPR managed to keep Shepherds Purse at the forefront of the campaign and widely represented in the media, resulting in increased awareness of its brand and increased sales.
